The renowned tenor Andoni Martinez has enjoyed a distinguished career in major theaters throughout Spain and Portugal, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatro Real, the Auditorio Nacional de Música Catalana, and the Coliseu in Lisbon, performing leading roles such as Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Alfredo (La traviata), and Nemorino (L'Elisir d'amore).

His repertoire also includes major symphonic and choral works, notably Handel's Messiah and the Requiems of Mozart and Verdi.

Recently, in July and August 2026, he performed the role of Alfredo in La traviata at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.

 

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the prestigious Coral de la Salve de Laredo, which made the definitive recording of the Misa Criolla with José Carreras, Andoni Martinez sang on October 25, 2025, at the Iglesia Colegial del Divino Salvador in Seville, where he performed Ariel Ramírez's Misa Criolla and Navidad Nuestra.

In 2024, he toured France with the Memoria project, dedicated to the renowned Basque tenor Luis Mariano, which also resulted in the recording of an album of the same name.

In 2023, he sang the role of Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Fuerteventura Congress Center.

In 2022, he appeared in Pagliacci at the Teatro Principal in Vitoria.

 

In 2020, he sang the role of Ernesto in Don Pasquale at the Astana State Theatre (Kazakhstan) and participated in productions of Pagliacci and Carmen as part of the Fuerteventura opera season.

In 2000, he joined the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as principal tenor, where he participated in operatic productions such as Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio, conducted by Zubin Mehta.

In 2019, he toured Costa Rica with a program of opera and zarzuela and sang the role of Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville at the Varna State Opera (Bulgaria).

Andoni Martinez trained in singing at the Madrid Higher Conservatory and also pursued higher education in law at the University of Deusto.
