HUGO TRANCHANT

For this season 2023/2024, Hugo Tranchant will be Monostatos in Mozart’s Magic Flute with the Opera Factory of Brittany and Jupiter in «The Works of Hercules» with the Monts du Rueil in Reims and will also be part of the two solidarity concerts of the Calms on a Offenbach program in the Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand and Massy. Hugo also sings this season with the troupe «Misérables en Concert» in their international tour in China and Taiwan.

 

Hugo, tenor, made his professional debut at the Capitole de Toulouse in Ravel’s Enfant et les Sortilèges (Arithmétique) in 2013. 

Gastone (Traviata de Verdi in Paris), Goro (Madama Butterfly de Puccini in Geneva), Don Ottavio (Don Juan de Mozart in Italy) Candide (title role in Bernstein), Almaviva (Rossini’s Barber of Seville), Don Fabrice (Mozart’s Cairo Goose), Oronte (Alcina de Händel), Cephus and Andy (Treemonisha by Scott Joplin).  

 

Winner of the Académie des Frivolités Parisiennes, at Offenbach, he already has a dozen roles to his credit and we also find him at Lehár, Halévy, Lecocq, Grisar, Nadaud or Maurice Yvain.  

 

Alongside university studies in English, he passed through the Conservatory of Rennes, the Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini di Trieste, the Pôle Supérieur de Musique de Toulouse (ISDAT) and finally the Hochschule of Hanover.  

 

Very committed in the associative field, Hugo sang at numerous gala concerts of UniSSON and CALMS at the Opéra Comique de Paris and the Operas of Avignon, Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy and Massy from 2020 to 2024. 

In addition, he regularly performs with people with autism and/or with disabilities, notably at Unesco or the Nuit Blanche and also gives workshops with “Les Concerts de Poche” and the Ateliers Médicis.

 

A versatile artist, Hugo is also an actor. After training with Meisner Paris Studio, Simplicius and SoyCreation, he played in plays by Tiago Rodrigues, Stefano Massini, Sophie Lecarpentier, Carine Lacroix and Faustine Noguès in several Parisian theaters. We could see him in the TV films “C’era una volta la città dei matti” in Italy and “White Sandals” as well as in the series “Becoming Lagerfeld”. Recently, Hugo sang the role of the Sailor in Purcell's “Dido and Aeneas” at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara and in Padua, as well as in Puccini's Bohème at the Château de Linières and in l'Enfant et les Sortilèges at the Opéra de Baugé.
